Tilak Yadav used to be a famous wrestler in his youth. He was a resident of Pokarbhinda village in Padrauna district of Uttar Pradesh. Due to his job in the Western Coal Fields, he lived with his family in the Valni mine located in Khaparkheda, Nagpur district.
Umesh Yadav’s father made Umesh Yadav (his son) an international cricketer by working in a coal mine.

Tilak Yadav left behind a big family behind him. Tilak Yadav has three sons Kamlesh, cricketer Umesh, Ramesh and a daughter. His last rites were performed at Kolar river ghat in Nagpur district.
